average person living in AFGHANISTAN?

You are a bit more crowded. Your country is a little smaller than Texas but has more people per area: ~ 119 people per sq. mi. (tot. 30 M). (US: ~ 80 people per sq. mi.)

A lot more people are kids : 45% of the population is under the age of 15 (US: 20%)

You have a one in four chance of dieing before your 5 th birthday. Some 26% of Afghan children die before the age of five. (US: 0.008%)

Your life will be a lot shorter. The average life span is only 43 years. (US: 78 yrs.)

You are a lot poorer . Average income per person is only $0.68 per day . (US: $113.42)

You are probably hungry all of the time . Almost 70% of the Afghan population doesn't get enough to eat. Half ( 50% ) of all children are stunted (smaller than they should be) because of malnutrition, which also retards their mental development.

You probably don't have a bathroom . Only about 8% of Afghans have adequate sanitation facilities.

The water you drink and wash is probably full of bacteria that can make you sick or even kill you . Only 13% of Afghans have access to improved drinking water.

Plus:

You have to worry about stepping on buried landmines .

Your house, school, road or bridge probably got damaged or destroyed during the war, and there's no money to build new ones.

You or someone in your family could get hurt or killed at any time because of ongoing violence .
