2013: A New Year for Great Beginnings!

Because of the generosity and compassion of our Children’s Hunger Relief Fund donors, we can begin this New Year by continuing to spread God’s love, through compassion, around the world. Together in 2012 we have provided relief in over two dozen countries! Last month each Children’s Hunger Relief Fund employee designated a grant for some of our projects to not only provide a special Christmas gift but also to encourage our dedicated partners as we set out on a new year together! For more information on each project, visit the CHRF website at www.CHRF.org Helping Abandoned Orphans in Zambia: It’s a horrific thought that infants and toddlers, children less then twelve months old are being abandoned around the world. Often times they are found in a ditch or worse yet, outhouse bathrooms. Disturbing events like these have inspired Children’s Hunger Relief Fund and our generous donors to team up with excellent project partners in Zambia that provide a safe home for these abandoned little ones. Many of these children, some of whom would have not been able to escape certain death, had a safe place to celebrate Christmas with a warm meal and others that love and care for them.

Creating Self-Sustainability and Water Wells in Kenya: One of our partners in Africa has come up with a very creative way to fund local and small businesses. What’s their secret? Goats! The project, started years ago, buys a healthy goat for a family who will then generate plenty of milk and cheese. Eventually families have sold enough milk to buy a new goat, which they then give to yet another family! Every year in Kenya, Children’s Hunger Relief Fund also works to build new clean water wells for villages or schools that have none. At this day and age it’s almost unbelievable to think that children still walk miles and miles just to fetch clean water, water that won’t get them sick, just in order to provide their brothers and sisters with water. Yet, around the world this still happens every day.

Haiti; Not Giving Up on Hope: Even since before the 2010 earthquake that devastated Haiti, CHRF has worked with our partners to bring relief to the thousands of children in desperate need. In fact, a team from CHRF narrowly missed the earthquake on an inspection and support trip in early 2010. Holding to our commitment to continue to bring hope to the hopeless, CHRF continues to provide support to life-saving medical clinics and feeding projects. As we look forward to 2013, CHRF remains devout to bringing love and aid to Haiti, one of the poorest and most devastated countries in the world.

Zana, Uganda; A Special Place for Children: For years Children’s Hunger Relief Fund has been ecstatic about the magnificent progress, dedication and love occurring in our school and orphanage in Kampala, Uganda. Reverend Emma, the director of the program, is an exceptional person with a compassionate heart who has committed his life to helping vulnerable children. Every year Reverend Emma rescues children from horrific conditions and brings them into the safe and loving care of the home. Because of Good Samaritans around the world like our Reverend Emma, innocent and vulnerable children still have protectors.

A Mother for the World in the Philippines: Mother Joan is another exemplary woman who has dedicated her life to helping others in any way she can. Mother Joan, who has been living in the Philippines for over ten years rescuing children, has brought God’s love to thousands of children and saved many of their lives. Currently she runs an orphanage in Naga City, Philippines where children who have lost their parents can find not only a place to live, but be brought up by Good Samaritans dedicated to giving them the healthiest and safest place possible.
