2015: Our Year Ahead
It’s always important for any team, organization, family or individual to set goals in order to achieve your intended outcome, that’s why our team at Children’s Hunger Relief Fund and our partners around the world have been setting goals for years! This past December, we have been honored, thanks to the help of our donors and team, to send life-saving missions all around the world, but none so dangerous as our emergency relief’s team trip to South Sudan, Somalia and Ethiopia (A.K.A. The Horn of Africa). Our teams have risked their lives to find children that were literally dying from starvation. They risked everything in order to fulfill their own goal of helping children and their families who might possibly die without their help! By doing so we are honored at CHRF to make one of the greatest impacts we can hope to make in the world, saving the priceless lives of innocent children who before were completely forgotten and helpless. Our team members reported from the field: “We meet with local people who all share the same story in South Sudan - how their village was attacked earlier this year and how they were forced to run for their lives and hide in the swamps for 3 months. One man says, ‘Come with me, I want to show you my house, it has been destroyed.’ We go and see the remains of a home that was hit by artillery or a tank shell. This is only one of many. I sit with these men and women and look into their eyes as they share their stories, trying to comprehend what they went through, ‘We had to run to hide in the swamps over 30 miles away but they tried to follow us.’ I ask, ‘Did you have a blanket or mosquito net, anything, what did you lie on?’ They share with me, ‘We had nothing, we slept in the sand, we were bitten by insects, we drank from the swamp and caught fish.’ What is astonishing about these people is their resilience and their humility; they have not given up hope. The children still laugh and play happily in the sand, some in rags, some without any clothing. Like a true miracle for these people, our second delivery arrives. Your support has helped make this miracle come true! We deliver our thousands of meals to the neediest families with suffering women and children. I wish you could see their smiling faces now as I can. These moments are truly unexplainable, priceless. It’s simply unbelievable what your support thousands of miles away can help achieve, the hope and life that we can create for others! One of the leaders steps forward, ‘You have encouraged us today. You have given our people some hope. We know that we are not alone and forgotten. Thank you.’” As we look forward to 2015 we at CHRF are excited to continue working towards our goal of making this world a better place, by helping one child at a time. This is one of our main purposes, to help the neediest and most desperate children and families around the world. We are eternally grateful for the partnership that our donors have made with us, and we are humbled and eager to continue our unified mission. From all of us at CHRF, thank you!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate your efforts and I am waiting for your next post thank you
