CHRF’S Outreach in Honduras & Around the World:

Children’s Hunger Relief Fund is proud to be working around the world in over twenty countries thanks to the invaluable support from our donors. Our mission and support is very diversified around the world depending on the needs of the local communities, family, and most of all, the innocent and suffering children. From helping prevent sexual trafficking in Asia, to delivering emergency meals and supplies in the tarnished warzones of the Sudan, to helping orphans find shelter and an education in Afghanistan, Africa, the Philippines and Central America, and sending valuable medicines to hospitals and clinics that are in great need, CHRF sets out to find the most desperate cases in order to help provide love and care for these children and families who have otherwise given up hope.

This summer CHRF sent down one of our teams to meet with our partners and friends in Central America, more specifically in Honduras, currently one of the most dangerous countries in the world, in order to visit the hospitals and clinics where many medicines from CHRF are being distributed to the poor and sick. Marcus Begley, one of the CHRF team leaders, writes in his report, “It was amazing to see how quickly our medicines were distributed and used by the local families after arriving in Honduras from the United States. It’s always a blessing to find good hard working and dedicated people on the ground to work with locally. Our partners here range from very accomplished businessmen to respected politicians. Our medicines are even used in the hospital close to the Presidential office in the Capital City which is overseen by the First Lady of Honduras herself!”

Marcus goes on to write, “As we traveled the country we stopped by rural villages to visit clinics where our medicines were being distributed free of charge to local families. Our medicines are used in such a wide variety of clinics and hospitals ranging from small clinics that only see a few desperate patients a day to large city hospitals that see over a thousand patients everyday! One thing remains constant no matter where we go, the doctors and nurses are so thankful and grateful for the medicines we send. Diabetes is a large problem in Honduras and the doctors always urgently request more diabetic medicines that we do our best to send. In other small clinics, families, children and mothers travel by foot or by donkey for miles in order to visit the pharmacy stocked with CHRF medicines in order to receive the medical attention and medication that they need. It’s truly inspiring to be a part of an organization that is making such a great impact around the world!”

And of course, CHRF’s help at clinics and hospitals doesn’t just stop in Honduras, you can find us making an impact around the globe in Haiti, Asia and Africa where our partners even run “mobile” clinics so that they can visit rural villages that are totally without a medical clinic of any kind! This last year has been especially difficult for our partners in Haiti who continue to fight the life-threatening disease of Cholera. Sadly many children have died from this disease in Haiti but with the help of our partners many more are being saved!

CHRF is also working with our partners in Kenya to continue to provide clean water systems for over a hundred and fifty schools in Kenya (Full Story Here)!
