Dreams Come True In Uganda
As we quickly approach the holiday season we arrive at a rare time when we stop our lives to appreciate everything that we take for granted on a daily basis. It’s human nature to often times forget the things that we have grown so accustomed to and instead focus on those things that we don’t have. No matter what situation you are currently in, there is always something to be grateful for; being alive, your health, even access to the computer or device that you are using to read this blog. For many children around the world there is little besides being alive to be grateful for. They have been through much tragedy, much abuse or neglect. But then come along good people, good people like our CHRF partners around the world, who are dedicated to bettering the lives of those children. And then there are the good people like you who are interested in helping those same children. Perhaps one of the best examples of a person who is using his life to care for helpless children is our long-time partner Isaac. Isaac has an amazing story, as he grew up in Uganda as an orphan himself, he couldn’t stand to see children on the street not cared for, abandoned. He wanted to provide these poor children with the opportunities that he wasn’t afforded as a child, so he started a small home caring for and providing for orphaned children. This program started slowly, but before he knew it, there were more then ten children he cared for, then fifteen, then twenty. Fast forward a few years and, thanks to the incredible help from one loving woman in California and the help of Children’s Hunger Relief Fund, Isaac now operates an orphanage that provides for over forty children. But that’s not all! Isaac, with the help of CHRF and our donors, has also established a beautiful new school in his community that provides an education for around one hundred and sixty children! Isaac literally does not stop working as his whole life, his break time, his fun time, his “time off” is all consumed by his passion and love to provide for his forty orphans. This year, Isaac also requested CHRF help single mothers in his community that are struggling to support their children. In this community in Uganda if you have just one goat that healthy goat can provide enough resources to sell and support your family almost everyday! So, again, with the generous help of our donors, CHRF purchased ten goats for the single mothers who needed help in Uganda! But that’s not all; Isaac also knew of a nearby community that desperately needed new water tanks to provide clean water for the children and mothers of their town. Isaac wrote to CHRF with this request and our CEO, Colonel Doner, was so touched with the request that he personally wrote the needed check for over $3,400 to fund the water tanks. As you can imagine, once you see the miracles and beautiful things being achieved in a place it’s hard to stop, and it’s hard to say no! That’s why we want to continue to ask for your support so that CHRF can help to finish the building of the school so that even more children will be able to find a valuable education in this community of Uganda. Isaac’s next project is to build dormitories for the school children that don’t have homes nearby to live in. It’s a large task that will cost thousands of dollars, but we know with the help of our CHRF donors, we can help make this next dream, this next miracle, come true! It’s inspiring to see the smiles of children who are so grateful for the little they have. With your help, we can help provide them to have a little more to be grateful for. Thank you!
