Nepal Update: “We’ve Reached Families No Other Aid Agency Has”
Eights days have passed since the gigantic 7.8 Magnitude earthquake struck Nepal and our Emergency Relief Team has been moving fast in order to provide help now when local children and families need our help the most.

Just yesterday they traveled on foot, hiking nonstop for eleven hours in order to reach a village that has been totally cut off and isolated by the quake. Our Emergency Relief Team Leader Reports: “This is a most unimaginable nightmare for these people, they share stories of the earth moving, mountains falling, houses just disappearing and over 7,000 people dead with tens of thousands more injured.”

He goes on to describe the surreal setting that people are now living in, “The smell of death beneath the rubble is staggering. Survivors are forced to dig up dead animals to eat. Danger has been high with continued tremors last week and attempted stealing of aid. Many children have been lost or abandoned. If they eat any dead animals they will surely get sick and survival will become even more difficult.”

Can you imagine your home town or city being completely cut off from the outside world? With no comfort of contact through the internet of cell phones? And the great relief you would feel as at last you see a team approaching your home with aid relief.

“That’s why we have traveled so quickly to Nepal and hiked for hours upon hours, to find children and families that no other relief agency has been able to reach. Here we are fulfilling our mission to provide hope to the hopeless. Thanks to CHRF and the generosity of our partners and donors we are able to provide thousands of meals as well as tents and other important supplies.”

Our work is not over as our team continues to help earthquake victims and continues to try and save the lives of many children. Please continue to pray and send support for the innocent and vulnerable victims of this natural disaster.
